Editors' Column
Murray & Diane Strome

We
are very pleased and honoured to be selected as the new editors of
Centennial's Roundabout. It will be a very difficult task to live up
to the high quality of decades of the newsletter compiled and
published by Audrey Farnden. On behalf of the whole Centennial
community, we wish to thank her for her fine efforts over the
years.
Thanks to Lauren Pashuk, who has prepared the cover,
children's page(s) and other artwork. She will be moving to Ontario
at the end of September, so we will need someone else with artistic
abilities to do this work for us in the future. We will all miss her
after she leaves. We hope that you will join us in wishing her every
happiness and success, and a safe journey.
We would also like
to thank the publishing crew, which has agreed to continue to make it
possible to prepare and distribute the Roundabout:
Ernie &
Doris Weigel
Robbie McMechan
Vaughn Thompson
Lillian &
Steve Clark
Laurina Reid
Judy Rankin
Maude & Gordon
Hatch
We would also like to thank all those who send us their
contributions. Without you, we would be unable to do our work.

Centennial Social Group
Submitted by Doris Weigel
What
a lovely afternoon we enjoyed on Sunday, July 7th at the
Centennial Picnic held at the home of Tom and Helen Fisher!!! This
was the third year that we have enjoyed their hospitality. The
children loved the trampoline. Joe and Betty brought along their
"Polish Horse Shoe Pitch", which many played (Lois McGill
especially enjoyed the game), while others socialized, and soaked up
the peace and quiet.
Thursday, July 25th was our
BEST EVER Golf Day (see next page for photos). Sixteen of us
played golf at Ardmore. The winning team was: Don Isner, Ernie
Weigel, June Bachman and Norene Thompson with a score of 39. The
other three teams were not far behind, with two at 40 and one at 42.
Toni and Jack Henderson arranged for the golf and invited us all back
to their home for dinner and fellowship. What a perfect day!
And
now fall is approaching. Watch the Bulletin for details on the
Bowling Night, Saturday September 21st, the Pot-Luck
Dinner and Mind Games on Friday October 25th, and the
Annual Centennial Christmas Dinner on Sunday December 8th.

E-Mail Directory and RoundAbout on the Web
Do
you have an E-mail address? Are you willing to share it with other
members of the Centennial Family? If so, please
let us know by sending an E-mail to wmstrome@shaw.ca
or dianestrome@shaw.ca
so that we can compile a list to be included in the next issue of the
Roundabout, which will be published in December.
We will be posting the RoundAbout on Centennial's website, beginning with this issue. You will be able to see it at: http://www.cucvictoria.com in September. Also, please let us know if you would prefer to view the web version (it will contain colour photos!) rather than receiving "hard copy". In this case, we would notify you by E-mail when it is available for viewing.
